Which power stations can you visit?

• The nuclear power stations of Doel and Tihange. These units generate electricity more or less continuously and play a key role in limiting emissions of greenhouse gases.
• The combined-cycle gas turbine plants (CCGT) of Drogenbos, Herdersbrug and Saint-Ghislain use natural gas as main source of energy. These units convert a high percentage of fuel energy into electricity.
• The wind farm of Pathoekeweg. Wind power is an important renewable source of energy.
• The pumped-storage station at Coo, a sort of temporary energy storage facility. Water is pumped up to a higher reservoir. At peak consumption times, it is released and activates a turbo-alternator.
